Sean Connery is a Scottish-born actor who is most famous for his roles in some of the James Bond movies. Connery was responsible for bringing a whole new look to the character of James Bond, a cunning and attractive spy with an obvious sexual charisma which he was able to introduce to the role. Although the creator of James Bond, Ian Fleming, did not originally envision him to look like Connery he ended up getting the role anyway. The actor was born in 1930 as Thomas Sean Connery, officially knighted in the year 2000 earning him the official royal title of “Sir Sean Connery”. He first started acting in the mid 1950s and was an instant hit in Hollywood as he took to the silver screen, earning himself a reputation early on.
In 1999 Connery was called “Sexiest Man of the Century” by People Magazine. He is originally from Fountainbridge, Edinburgh and is the son to a cleaning woman and factory worker, starting off with absolutely no connection in the film industry. Connery’s very first job was that of a milkman in his home town of Edinburgh; eventually he went on to join the Royal Navy where he received several tattoos and many life lessons. Because he had developed an ulcer over time, Connery was discharged and thus began his road to a career in acting.
